Dependent on the program(s) you are seeking, you can register for individual courses, or for the entire series. In your account, you will have access to everything you will need, for the duration of the program/course. During the program’s period you may access it on your time and at your own convenience. The Construction Online Language Series
Each of the courses in this Internet-based program builds on the previous one and registered participants have 12 weeks of access – over 2,000 total hours of access in each course wherever the internet is available. Courses continue to be developed, with several more as noted, launching online in Winter 2011.

Introduction to Construction English I
The participant will be able to understand and employ familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases geared to the construction site, and is introduced to the importance of safety on the job; can introduce him or her self and others and can ask and answer questions about personal information, including phone number, telling the time, home address and location, and people he or she knows; can interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to help. Common cultural differences are introduced.
Introduction to Construction English II
The participant will be able to understand statements and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic work-related, personal and family information, local geography, and employment); can communicate about tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters; can describe in simple terms aspects of his background, immediate work environment and immediate basic need. Safety on the job is reinforced and common cultural differences are addressed.
Construction Spanish For The English Speaker I
With 24/7 access, the construction professional will have ample opportunity to learn and practice common commands, pronunciations, and phrases that will allow him/her to communicate clearly in Spanish at the job site. A native Spanish-speaker provides audio guidance and proper pronunciation appropriate for communicating with the majority of Spanish-speaking construction employees. The primary purpose of this course is to ensure clear communications between the Spanish-speaking employee and the English-speaking manager as the Spanish-speaker transitions to English, and to ensure safety at the job site using a common language.

Intermediate Construction English I
The participant will be able to understand and communicate clearly about familiar matters regularly encountered at work; can deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where English is spoken; can produce simple connected text on topics which are related to work or of personal interest; can describe experiences, procedures, and events, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. The importance of safety on the job continues to be reinforced.
Intermediate Construction English II
The participant will be able to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in the crafts; can interact with a degree of fluency that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible with little strain for either party; can produce clear, detailed language on a range of subjects at work and express viewpoints on work-related issues giving basic advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Advanced Construction English I
The participant will be able to understand a variety of long spoken and written texts, and recognize implicit meaning; can express him or her self spontaneously without obvious searching for expressions; can use language flexibly and effectively for social, work and professional purposes; can produce clear, well-structured text on relatively complex subjects, demonstrating controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
Construction Spanish For The English Speaker II & III
These courses will build on the first course. The participant will be able to understand a variety of long spoken and written texts, and recognize implicit meaning; can express him or herself spontaneously without obvious searching for expressions; can use language flexibly and effectively for work and professional purposes; can produce clear, well-structured text on relatively complex subjects, demonstrating controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors, and cohesive devices.
